Based in the picturesque village of Haxby, just a few miles outside of York, Castaway Yarns is the perfect place to come and get away from it all, cast on and castaway...

We have a great range of yarns to cover all tastes and budgets, along with a fantastic range of patterns and some lovely comfy sofas to relax on whilst you browse.

We also stock cross stitch sets and DMC threads, knitting accessories, haberdashery items, buttons and crafty gifts for all ages. So come and visit us soon!

About

Castaway Yarns is owned and run by Clare Burborough, along with her husband Martin and mother in law Jean.

As a bit of a knit-a-holic Clare decided to try and realise her dream and open her own knitting shop. The dream came true in September 2011.

Keen to ensure that there is a yarn to suit every budget and taste, Clare is pleased to stock Sirdar, King Cole, Twilleys of Stamford, Wendy, Peter Pan and James C Brett.

Castaway Yarns can be found in Haxby Shopping Centre and is open from 9.30 to 4.30 Tuesday to Saturday.

There is free parking at the rear of the shopping centre and throughout the village.
